It’s Finally Done

Published by Jana under Semi-Daily Jibber

Many, many, many, MANY thanks to Arista at Nickel ‘n Dimes Graphics for this awesome template, and all the hard work that she put into helping me make it 100% usable…it was a headache and a half for me…but she was patient and kind, and helped me make it mine! Thank you so much Arista, I just love it! Can everyone see it OK? Totally unique, huh?

We had a great weekend…busy, but great. Friday, Shawn worked 24 hours at Stat Medevac, and the kids and I went to my sister Joyce’s to celebrate her birthday. Then Saturday, Shawn came home about 8ish, bringing donuts for the family, and we just all hung out for a while. Then I went and got my nails done, Shawn did some stuff around the outside, and we went to a Community Day wrap-up/Thank You picnic. The kids had a great time, as did Shawn and I. Then Shawn had a Texas Hold ‘Em “Tourney” here at the house. Unfortunately, he didn’t win, but he did have a great time.

Today we had Nick’s birthday party, and now I have Timmy, Lee Anne, and Nick all sleeping over, as their parents are on there way to Maryland for a family members funeral. They’ll get up and go to school with Ashton & Faith, and then come back here after school until their parents get home. I only have Amanda for babysitting tomorrow, so it shouldn’t be too hectic at all.

I think my van is about to die…the brakes make this horrible moaning noise, and my BIL just replaced my brake pads in the back, and the rotters in the front…and now there was a big oil spill in my garage last night, why can’t it just be something simple like the battery or something…not something that will probably cost us more than the van is worth. It is a 2000 with over 88,000 miles on it, but it’s almost paid off…so we’re thinking we’ll like the no car payment, but we can’t drive a car that is dead, ya know? I just hope it’s not too costly. Ugh! If it’s not one thing, it’s another, huh?

I’m so excited for the new shows to start this week…Dancing with the Stars, Heroes, Grey’s Anatomy, Ugly Betty and the new Private Practice. Then next Sunday, Desperate Housewives…my days will pretty much be filled with the new shows. And don’t forget that Survivor China has already started. I was really surprised that “Chicken” got voted out…I thought after Tribal Council that for sure P.G. (not sure how she spelled it, but that’s how they pronounced it) sealed her fate with her thinking she was the leader…as if! Hope next week someone puts her in her place. :icon_biggrin:

Well…everyone is asleep, and I’ve got an early morning, so I guess it’s time for me to get myself to bed…6 a.m. comes mighty early, for sure! Hope you all had a very blessed weekend…and have the most blessed week…Happy Autumn!

What a Week!

Published by Jana under Semi-Daily Jibber

Wow…I cannot believe that I haven’t blogged all week…I was doing so well with updating, and then *poof* on Sunday we were without internet OR phone service until Tuesday evening when it finally got repaired! I was lost without my phone or internet. I guess what had happened was somehow the Fios line to our house got kinked, and finally broke off on Sunday when I lost the connection…I fought with Verizon for a few days…had some repairmen blow me off…was told that my DSL was disconnected (HELLO???? I have Fios!!!)…and it was just an utter mess for 3 days, and I was not a happy camper. But…I got it all fixed, everything is working great again, and I’m happy as can be. Sure got a lot of stuff done around the house with the internet being down, for sure.

I’ve had Amanda for babysitting all week, and it has been going great. She’s a little doll baby, and I enjoy being around her so much. I just put her down for her nap, and Logan is upstairs playing Play Station. We just got back from lunch with Timmy at Chick-fil-a, and everyone needs some down time…including me.

We’ve officially got a guest room now. The people I babysit for were getting rid of bunk beds, and I asked if we could have them…we put them up in Ashton’s room, and put Ashton’s bed in the computer room…the fourth bedroom, and it looks great. It’s nice knowing that we have this if we need it for company…LISA…or for when my sister stays over or anything else. Ashton got camouflage sheets for his room…I only did one bunk so far, and then Faith is getting High School Musical sheets, then he’ll get his second set of sheets after that. It’s all coming together nicely.

We also got decorated for Fall/Halloween this week. We’ve got lights around the porch, a couple pumpkins, and corn stalks already. I’m not sure what else Shawn wants to do…I know we have a scarecrow and some other stuff still…but we’ll get that finished this weekend, for sure.

I’m looking to finally get a new TV for the Living Room this weekend, as I’ve had to rearrange TV’s over the past few months with two of them breaking in a months time. I’ve had Ashton’s little 13″ in our bedroom, and he deserves to have it back…so hopefully with my babysitting money this weekend, I can get something reasonable. Shawn’s wanting a HUGE screen TV, but that might have to wait until Income Tax time or something. It would be great to have a home theater popcorn machines to go along with the big screen TV, wouldn’t it. If I get at least a 32″ for the living room, I can always move that to the game room and put the big screen in the living room eventually…maybe someday? Who knows.

Well…that’s about all that’s going on in my world right now. I’m so sorry that I haven’t been by in so long…hopefully soon, as this weekend is another crazy running around weekend.

T.G.I.F.

Published by Jana under Semi-Daily Jibber

And am I EVER thankful that it is Friday!!!!!! Woo hooo!!!!!! Sleeping in time! :icon_biggrin: I hope! I only babysat in the morning today…so Shawn & I spent the day together, we went to a place called “Worlds of Values” that Shawn described as a fancy dollar store with more stuff (ie…wicker furniture that I would LOVE to have for my porch…maybe someday). But we got lots of Halloween stuff today for decorating. Window clings, a pumpkin wash basin to put on the porch. A cat & pumpkin can wind chime…and I got Halloween pencils and baggies for the kids Halloween party treat bags. I could go crazy in that store…but with all that we bought, I only spent $32. Not bad, if I do say so myself!

Then we went to visit Shawn’s grandmother in the Assisted Living Home she lives in…she has dementia, and it’s so sad to see her fading away…she’s alert, but she doesn’t remember what she did that morning…let alone a day or so ago. She kept referring to Shawn as “Daddy”, so I don’t even know if she really knew who he was, or not. But she was happy…and that’s what matters the most, right?

I’m getting another child to babysit starting on Monday…her name is Amanda, and she’s 3 years old. She’s one of the Admin. Assistant’s from church’s granddaughter…and I had watched her when I still worked at Mom’s Day Out, so I’m excited to have another little girl around. They are coming over today to meet myself and my kids…so it will be nice to have another little girl around for Faith.

On the diet front…I’m looking into trying some Goji Berry Juice. It’s been known to increase metabolism, strengthen the immune system, help energy levels…and the big one for me improve joint functioning! Have you ever heard of it? I haven’t…but I was referred to it for my knee problems, so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if it works or not. I’ll have to go visit GNC or something. Or you can get it online…but who wants to wait for it, huh?

This weekend, Ashton gets to test drive the “Cub Mobile” for Cub Scouts for the race at the end of the month…it’s a little manual go cart, of sorts, that’s low low low to the ground. He’s super excited about it! He’s become my little crafty man lately…always wanting to build something or do something creative…maybe I’ll get him a model rocket or something that he can build on his own, or with Shawn.

Well…it’s about time for the kiddos to get home, so I guess I’ll say ado for now. Hope you all are having a fantastic week, and have a blessed weekend.

…until we blog again…
