Happy Halloween

Published by Jana under Semi-Daily Jibber

Well, today started off rough…very rough. Faith couldn’t find her eye patch or earring for her Halloween costume this morning, so we spent the majority of the morning on a mad goose search for the rest of her costume. Ugh! Not a good thing. Her not looking, telling me it was *MY* fault it was lost…as if? And me yelling at her telling her to look or she could not go Trick or Treating this evening. No fun…not at all.

I got all the treat bags packed and ready to go for them today…and got special bags for the kids I babysit and the neighborhood kids. Thanks to my mom and my friend Kim who was here yesterday helping me out with that. I was stressing. I found out that one of the blood tests I had last week clotted, and I have to have that one redone. I have to attend a Joint Replacement Class tomorrow, find time to fit in the Halloween parade & party for the kids today, and still manage to get my house cleaned, pick up my wheeled walker for after my surgery, and try to manage everyday life. Calgon…take me away! I need MORE hours in the day, that’s for sure. :runforhills: And then I can’t stay awake past 10 o’clock, so I need my sleep, so staying up past then to get stuff done, isn’t good. At all. Today is the last day I have the boys until after Thanksgiving, and tomorrow is my last day for Amanda until after my surgery…so hopefully I can fit it all in before then…hopefully! Again…I can’t wait until next week at this time, means it’s all over and done with and I’m on the road to recovery. Who knows…maybe I’ll be able to use an elliptical when I’m healing? I wish!

Well, time to get the kids going…so I better get going. I wish everyone a fun and safe Halloween! Hope you get lots and lots of candy!

Happy Birthday Bubby!

Published by Jana under Semi-Daily Jibber

:birthdaysign: To my baby boy, who is 9 years old today! Oh my gosh…I cannot believe I am even saying that! I cannot believe he is 9 years old already. I feel like I just had him yesterday, and now here he is…half way to adulthood! :heartyou: I hope you have a great day at school today! Mommy, Daddy and Faith are super proud of you! :family:

I don’t have anything special planned for him, since he had his kid birthday party on Sunday, and his family party will be on Saturday, so we’re just having a quiet evening at home tonight. For his birthday so far he got his Nintendo DS, Pokemon Pearl (I think…or Diamond, I forget) for his DS, an Under Armor sweatshirt & t-shirt from all of us. From my mom he got the video rocker chair, and a pair of Crocs. Today I picked up for him from my mom The Suite Life of Zach & Cody for his DS as well. My sister got him an outfit and The Game of Life. At his party he got lots of money, lots of gift cards for Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Toys-R-Us. Along with some Pokemon trading cards, couple of games, and an Under Armor shirt. Who knows what is in store for him this weekend…he’s celebrating all week, for sure!

Trying to get emotionally prepared for next week, if that is at all possible. I go on Thursday for a Joint Replacement Therapy class, where I’ll learn more of what is going on, and what to expect when I’m in the hospital and when I come home. I find out on Friday what time I’m to be there…hopefully it will be early since I have to fast the midnight before.

The kids are all excited for Trick or Treating tomorrow night. They’ll go with Shawn & my sister’s boyfriend Mike, his daughter Hannah and other neighborhood kids. We’ve already got too much candy in the house…good thing I won’t be around the house next week to eat any of it! LOL :jack-o-lantern:

I’m thinking of getting some new lights for around the house and what not. Anyone ever seen or heard of quoizel lighting? They have some very pretty stuff.

Well…I guess I better get some stuff done. I only have Shannon right now, and she’s sleeping in her car seat still…Amanda doesn’t come until 10:45, and then Logan at 11:30. Today will be the last day I have Shannon until December! She’ll grow so much! Then tomorrow is the last day for the boys, Thursday for Amanda, then I’ll be off until after Thanksgiving for the boys, and Amanda will come back next Tuesday. Since I’ll have my mom or sister here to help with that.

Hope you all have a very blessed day!

Donuts with Dad

Published by Jana under Semi-Daily Jibber

The kids left a little earlier this morning to go to school for the annual “Donuts with Dad”, and it’s just me and Amanda right now…I’m heading to the shower in a bit, and then we’re off to run all kinds of errands before Logan gets home from Kindergarten. Busy, busy, busy…that’s for sure!

I had my preliminary admittance appointment with my primary care physician yesterday, had an EKG, blood work, and just a general all over check up to make sure he can say OK for me having the surgery…I don’t know why my orthopedic couldn’t have done that…guess it’s a way for all doctors to get a hand on the insurance money, who knows? But everything was OK with him (except my weight as usual), so he gave the go ahead. I also go my flu shot yesterday, only to be shocked when I spoke to a friend on the phone who had her flu shot on Wednesday, and she was as sick as a dog! My doctor thought it was good that I get one, so I DON’T end up with the flu before or after the surgery. I’m just praying that I don’t get sick like Cathy did! Big time! Today I have to go for a chest x-ray, then I have a Total Joint Class next Thursday, and the surgery the following Monday. I won’t know until the Friday before the surgery what time…but it’s coming fast. Way too fast if you ask me! :icon_neutral:

I’m so excited…Karen from Recycle Bin Graphics is working on some custom graphics for me for my blog! She’s so awesome, and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with! You rock Karen!!!!!!

Well, I better get myself moving, or I’ll never get out of here. But before I go…just wanted to say cabinet hardware. Hope you have a great day today!
