Last Post of 2008

Published by Jana under Semi-Daily Jibber

Can you believe it..it’s the LAST day of 2008!!! Whew, did this year go by fast! I can’t believe it’s over, and we’ll be ringing in a new year in less than 12 hours! What a year it has been!

Highlights are Shawn’s full-time position at Stat Medevac, what a blessing and a half this has been. It’s so wonderful having my husband home 5 days a week! It’s awesome! :) Our new home has been another blessing. We’re so happy here, and love our new home. We feel so much at home here, more so than we have in a really long time!

Additions to the “family” are Ashton’s Gecko “Fleury” and Faith’s Gerbil “Wynnee” along with the hermit crabs, and numerous fish.

Still haven’t lost all the weight I want to lose, gonna work on that in 2009 with the guidance of God. Giving it to Him…praying for Him to make me strong to help lose the weight.

Other resolutions I’d like to work on are not yelling at the kids so much, trying to have more patience, and more love and understanding. Stop being so quick tempered, and yelling at the simple things.

Well, I’m getting the Christmas stuff put away, ready to have my house back in order. Shawn’s off tonight and tomorrow, but we’re not sure what we’re doing yet. No specific plans as of yet. But we’ll be together…that’s what matters the most. :)

Before I go, just a quick shout out for my term life insurance quote. Have a blessed day…and have a wonderful remainder of 2008!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! May all your dreams and wishes come true for you in 2009!

Leader Retreat

Published by Jana under Semi-Daily Jibber

Today at 3 p.m. Shawn, my sister and I are joining the other leaders from CrossOver for a Leaders Retreat! Where we can revamp, regroup, and rejuvenate from the last semester of CrossOver and prepare for the next one!

I went two years ago, and it was a ton of fun…lots of laughing, spiritual fulfillment and just what was needed…and again it is very much so needed! It’s only 30 hours, but so worth it!

Yesterday, Ashton & I went with two of his friends to see “Bedtime Stories”. It was a very funny movie, and we all had a good time! Faith was with my sister and her boyfriend, and his daughter all day, so it was just me and Ashton. Then we went to the mall to get his last Christmas gift that wasn’t in until yesterday. He got a Penguins Jersey that he wanted. He decided on Fleury (the goalie). He loves it! Then we came home and watched the Pens game together. We had a very good day! :)

We’ll be leaving for the retreat about 3 p.m. and I have some laundry to do…so I better get moving! Hope you all have a very blessed day!

And it’s Over…

Published by Jana under Semi-Daily Jibber

All the preparations, the shopping, the planning, the cooking, the wrapping…in a blink of an eye, it’s all over! I can’t even believe it is over that quickly!

We had a wonderful Christmas. The kids tried waking me up at 4:30, but I wouldn’t budge…plus Shawn was working until 7 a.m., so they had to wait for Daddy to come home. They came again at 7:15, and just then Shawn was coming home…so we got up then.

Gosh…they both got so much, I don’t even remember it all…

Ashton got Madden ’09 for Wii, Club Penguin for Nintendo DS, some clothes, a Webkinz and a Peyton Manning jersey.

Faith got this nail gem thing, Uno Flash, Littlest Pet Shop for Nintendo DS, lots of clothes, a Webkinz and jewelry.

Then when my sister came over they opened presents from my mom and sisters. Ashton got a video camera from my mom, and the accessories to go with it. He’s going to be a movie director some day…he loves making movies with his cell phone…so this is even better. :) Faith got a cup cake maker, more jewelry, purse, and I can’t even remember what else.

All I asked for this year was new pots & pans, which I got from my mom. And I also got a new crock pot, my Animal Crossing City Folk game for Wii, my blackberry pearl (IN PINK) and the kids surprised me and got me the “Brother & Sister” Willow Tree, and from my sister I got a COACH PURSE!!!! Talk about total shock! :D I made out quite well, indeed!

Now today Faith is with my sister and her boyfriend’s daughter. Ashton’s still sleeping at 11 o’clock, and Shawn’s back at work. I think Ashton & I will go to the movies, or something today. We want to see Bedtime Stories. :)

Well, I better get my house cleaned up…it still looks like a disaster hit it! I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas, and that Santa was good to you all. Before I go, just a quick shout out for laptop memory.
