Well, I’ve been waiting and waiting and waiting to hear about this…and I finally did…I GOT A JOB!!!! I applied for a job in November at MedExpress, an urgent care center right down the road from us…as a Front Office Worker. I got the letter in December that I was qualified, but they put the position on hold. Well, today I got the call wanting to know if I was still interested, and I GOT THE JOB!!!! It’s a full time position, but they only work 3 days a week. It’s from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. three days a week, and they will work around Shawn’s schedule. So between the two of us, we’ve both got full-time jobs and only will be working 5 days a week! LOL I’ll always be able to put the kids on the bus, and he’ll be home in time get the kids off the bus. And I’ll still be home to tuck them in at night. I’m excited to get out of the house and be around other adults…not sitting at home by myself or with the kids, or the kids I babysit. Not that I don’t enjoy that…but I’ve been doing it for 10 years now, I’m ready to be among adults on a regular basis. LOL

Not exactly sure of my start date yet, I’ll hear on that tomorrow I think. But I do know that the girl I’m replacing will be leaving February 8th, so they are hoping I can start before then so I can get trained. What I’ll be doing is one of 5 jobs they have for the Front Office Workers. Greeting, payment information, insurance verifiers, runners, and I cannot remember the last one…I think possibly a floater. Well, I’ll be doing one of those on a rotating basis. The pay is great…and the perks are awesome! I’ll be wearing dark blue scrubs (that they provide), and they have a catered lunch provided DAILY! Shawn worked with a Nurse Practitioner that is there now, who actually referred me for the job, and she says that it’s an awesome job! And I’m so looking forward to being a part of this atmosphere!

Other than that…my birthday was awesome! We had a great time Friday with all the STAT Medevac people at the post-holiday party, then Saturday was my birthday dinner with my family, Sunday was our bible study, and now we’re back to the new week.

You’re going to be seeing a lot of that until the Super Bowl…LOL So be warned!

I’m finally starting to feel better. I ended up at MedExpress on Monday to get a strep test done, and thankfully it’s not strep…but it is a sinus infection. So I was put on an antibiotic, a cough decongestant and some nasal spray. I felt better within a day from the antibiotic…but I’m still pretty stuffed up and loopy I guess. I get dizzy when I stand up sometimes, and if I bend over I feel like my head is going to fall off my body. But Shawn says that’s from being so congested…so hopefully that goes away real soon.

My sister took me out to dinner last night for my birthday celebration. We went to my favorite restaurant, The Baltimore House, for all you can eat shrimp and crab legs. It was so yummy! Tonight I’ve got CrossOver (Shawn’s working), tomorrow All Stars for Jesus, then Friday is the post-holiday party for Shawn’s work. Saturday is my birthday dinner with family, and not sure what is going on on Sunday as of yet.

Shawn showed me my birthday present yesterday…it’s being shipped from China, so I won’t get it in time. He got me an authentic Max Talbot alternative jersey (the blue ones) for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Max Talbot is MY FAVORITE hockey player!!! And they don’t make his jersey for sale in the stores…it’s a hard to come by! There is a picture of it on my Facebook account, if you’d like to see. I’m so excited about it!

Well, Ava is fussing, so I better get going…but before I go, and I don’t think this is right with my birthday being tomorrow and all…LOL but just a quick shout out for adult diaper. Have a blessed day everyone!
