We are having a wonderful time in North Carolina, with our terrific friends Jennifer & Mike, and their family. We arrived Wednesday evening about 7 p.m. We met the Shelton’s off base, and then they drove our vehicles in so we could get on the base. The base is totally not what I expected, I don’t know if I really knew what to expect…but wow! This place is amazing! Fort Bragg is it’s own little world. And everywhere you go there are soliders, and the people are so polite.

Friday, I went to work with Jennifer. She works at a consignment shop, and we sorted through the donations that soldiers families drop off. If someone is deployed or moving and they can’t take everything with them, they drop it off at the donation center. They also take consignments for people are staying there. It’s a really nice place…and I was able to get some stuff for the kids and my nieces while I was there.

After work, and the kids were all home from school, we headed to a lake…right here on Fort Bragg! The kids had so much fun playing in the water, and just getting along in general. All the pictures Jennifer has taken are up on my Facebook account if you would like to see them. She’s a great photographer…and she’s a shutterbug like my sister Jill…gets all the best pictures at the right moment.

Late Friday night, after too much jumping on the trampoline, Faith ended up with a belly ache. So we had an easy morning, and Mike needed to go see his Commanding Officer about some stuff that is going on, but after all was done, and Faith was feeling better, we headed about 2 hours east for the BEACH!!! My kids got to see the ocean for the very first time! It was so much fun! The water was cold…but that didn’t stop the kids, they all got in there and got knocked over by the waves numerous times! It was all worth it when we were leaving Faith said, “This was the best day ever!” It was awesome…and to think she might have to had missed it if her belly didn’t cooperate with her more!

Today we’re heading to an Easter Egg hunt on base for the kids. Then we’re going to dye Easter eggs later, and all that fun stuff. We’re going to a Jambbas Ranch…where they have buffaloes, Llamas, elk, camel, cows, sheep, goats, deer, pot bellied pigs, ducks, geese, turkeys, peacocks, guineas, rabbits, emu, ostrich, and lots, lots more! I am sure it is going to be tons of fun for the kids! And I’m sure Jennifer will have tons more pictures!

It’s a great vacation…and I am not looking forward to going home. But…there will be many, many more times with these wonderful people.
