Awesome Weekend!

Published by Jana under Semi-Daily Jibber

We had an awesome weekend…despite the major heat! It has been hot, hot, hot here…and to top it off extremely humid. Makes it pretty hard to enjoy outside…but we’ve been having fun. The kids and I went to Sandcastle on Thursday with some friends for “Buddy Day” and had a great time! Friday and Saturday were blurs to me…and then Sunday we went to my sister Becky’s 21st birthday party. We had a GREAT time! It was so great to catch up with my dad’s side of the family, my grandmother, and my ex-step mother. The kids had a blast too! Faith is actually going to stay at my dad’s for the weekend coming up. My sister is going to take her to ride horses…and I’m sure she’s going to have a great time. Ashton’s not quite ready yet. He hasn’t been doing many sleep overs lately because he’s afraid of getting homesick, but hopefully he’ll start going too.

Yesterday was another hot & humid day…so we went to Sandcastle again. It was so crowded!!! But all in all the kids, Shawn and I had a great time! Building up the last of our summer tans while we can! :)

Today it’s just me and the kids…so we’re working on getting the laundry done, and house cleaned up. Nothing too exciting. Tomorrow I go for a bunch of testing and appointments for my weight loss surgery. I have to take a breathing test that goes with my sleep study, then I meet with the psychologist, and have my monthly weigh in. Thursday the kids have dentist appointments, and we have a family therapy appointment. Then Friday is my actual sleep study…so we’ll be busy for the next few days as well. :) I love my life!!! :D

That’s about all that is going on here…so I guess I’ll go for now, but before I go, just a quick shout out for phosphacore. Have a blessed day everyone!

Feeling Right at Home

Published by Jana under Semi-Daily Jibber

Oh joy! I am feeling so happy to be back amongst my friends in the blogging community. It feels so good catching up with everyone, and blogging again. I feel like I never left now. Thanks everyone for the warm reception back! :)

Today, the kids and I are heading to Sandcastle, our waterpark, for some fun. It’s “buddy day” so Ashton’s got his friend Matthew coming, and also one of the Crossover girls who babysits for us, Mackenzie, is coming too. Faith will have a blast with her, I’m sure! It’ll be nice to get some sun…as my tan is fading, big time!

Shawn’s working today…and boy did we have a fiasco with his car yesterday. He called me about 8:30 yesterday morning (after working 24 hours) to tell me that his car wouldn’t start. So the kids and I came down to get him, and drive him to get a new car battery, as they think that’s what it was. Replaced the battery and still nothing. So we called AAA Motor Club to come see if they could start it. Still nothing! The AAA guy thinks it was the starter, so now we have to get that fixed. He’s letting it sit at the base until we know if this is something my brother-in-law can fix, and whether he wants to do it there at the base where it is flat, or have it towed to our house. Not fun…but hopefully it’s fixable. I so want to get rid of that car, but it’s almost paid off…and it’s got low miles, so guess we’ll have to see if it can get fixed or not. :(

Well…the kids are starting to get up and stirring, so I better get showered and ready to go to Sandcastle, but before I go, just a quick shout out for ceramic tile. Have a blessed day everyone!

Catching Up

Published by Jana under Semi-Daily Jibber

Well…since I’m back to blogging again, I guess that it’s time that I update everyone on what we’ve been up to the last 6 months! LOL Where to begin??? I guess I’ll just update with our summer adventures…if you can call them that.

The kids got out of school in June, and the week following Jennifer drove up and dropped off her kids, Desiree and Nathan. They stayed for about a week and a half. We went to Sandcastle a couple of times, saw some movies, went to a couple of parties and what not, and all in all had a really good time. Then we drove the kids back, and Faith was going to stay with them, but things didn’t work out and instead Desiree came back with us. She stayed for a little less than a month. It was great having her here, but she was ready to go home.

We’ve been having some problems with Faith. She’s not been the best behaved lately, and she’s really been trying my patience as well as everyone else around us. We’re working through things as best we can, and we’ve already seen a major improvement…but just to be safe we’re going to family counseling. It’s like Faith doesn’t know how to control her anger, so we’re working on how to get things right again.

Ashton had a great season with hockey. Shawn coached them and they did great. The playoffs were last Saturday, and unfortunately they didn’t move on, but all in all it was a great year. Ashton had a HUGE improvement this season, and is already looking forward to next year!

Shawn’s been awesome with taking care of the house, keeping the laundry done, and all the jobs *I* should have been doing…but he’s now happy to be just the dad again, instead of both the mom and dad!

Me…I’m 1/2 way through the Lifestyle classes to have gastric bypass surgery. I’ve already met with my surgeon, had my upper GI, and now I just have to have my psych consult, and meet with my nutritionist and I’ll be good to go. After 3 more classes that is. I’m hoping for a mid-November date for the surgery.

Oh…and my mom is engaged! They don’t have a date set yet, but she and Norm will be getting married sometime in the future! I am so happy for her! I’m sad that she’ll be moving to Ohio, but happy that she’s happy! Norm’s a great guy…and they are perfect for each other!

Oh…one last thing. I’m hoping to get back into the designing business, so I’ve officially opened up The Country Blog Hosting. I hope you’ll stop by and take a peek at it and hopefully find it of interest to you!

Other than that…I’m going to try my best to be back to blogging regularly, visiting regularly and getting my life back to normal! Now I’m off to do more domestic goddess “stuff”, but before I go, just a quick shout out for Circuit City. Wishing you all a most blessed day!

…until we blog again…
