One week and counting!

Published by Jana under Semi-Daily Jibber

We are now officially one week away from surgery! And I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am. Only thing that is keeping me somewhat hesitant is that I picture myself thin. It’s been so long since I have been thin that I cannot picture myself thin. But I know that I will be successful, and will be so happy to have the pounds melting away.

We’re trying to get ready for Christmas around here…doing as much as we can before my surgery. Haven’t done a stitch of shopping yet…but I’m a last minute shopper anyways. Plus, the kids are having such a hard time trying to decide what they want. I haven’t even gotten their lists yet!

Thanksgiving was great…Shawn worked a half day, and we went to the base and had Thanksgiving lunch with him and his crew. The pilot fried a turkey that was absolutely amazing! I never had a fried turkey before. And then my mom did the cooking at our house for us, my sister and her boyfriend and herself. I ate so much turkey, I was in a turkey coma! And then we just sat around and watched Tyler Perry movies. I’ve now seen almost all of them. My favorite is still “Why Did I Get Married”. I’m looking forward to the plays that my friend Pam is lending me after my surgery. :)

Other than my surgery, not too much else going on, but I did want to just check in and say HI! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

…until we blog again…

One Month and Counting…

Published by Jana under Semi-Daily Jibber

One month today I will be having my surgery! Cannot wait!

I just downloaded a blogging app for my Blackberry, so testing it out to see if it works for when I am in the hospital. Can you see me?

I’m Alive!!!

Published by Jana under Semi-Daily Jibber

Can you believe I haven’t blogged in nearly TWO months! What’s up with that? I just haven’t had that much stuff to blog about…so I just neglected it. But I am hoping that this is going to change, because *I* am going to be going through some MAJOR changes starting…DECEMBER 7!!!!

I have been approved for weight loss surgery, and will be going to have the RNY Gastric Bypass surgery on Monday, December 7, 2009 with Dr. Carol McCloskey. Yes…it will be the day that changes my life forever! I am so excited!!!

I’ve already asked my family to forgo buying me anything for Christmas…and instead wait until July, and buy me clothes. That way I can have Christmas in July. I’m just jumping for joy…can’t believe how excited I am! December 7th cannot get here fast enough!!!

We have had a busy couple of weeks. Ashton’s birthday was on October 30, and we had his family party the week before, and then his kid birthday after Halloween. He was saving up to get a Play Station 3, and ended up going with the used one for less money…but has been playing non-stop since he got it! I still cannot believe he is 11 years old…where has the time gone?

Before Ashton’s birthday party I was suffering from flu like symptoms. I received my flu shot the Tuesday, and by Thursday I was on death’s doornail! Shawn ended up taking me to the ER and wouldn’t you know I tested positive for Type A Influenza…THE FLU! Horrible week, that’s for sure. I was in bed for 3 days. Still not 100%, just have a lingering cough that doesn’t want to go away! :( But much better than I was last week…and better I had the flu now instead of when I have my surgery!

The kids are doing great! Excelling in school big time! Ashton’s officially playing ice hockey, and loving every minute of it! Faith is doing much better at home since I stopped working, and we’re not having nearly as many problems with her. Which is a huge blessing! We are enjoying our time together…and loving every minute of it!

Not too much else is going on…but I do plan to continue blogging so that I can keep everyone up to date on my surgery progress. I hope you all have a very blessed day!

…until we blog again…
