So Christmas morning seems like a blur now. It came and went faster than I can ever recall. It was pretty uneventful. The kids got us up at 6 o’clock, and were so pleased with all their gifts. Ashton got Wii games, a Steeler jersey, bed sheets, Aeropostle shirts, PS3 games, a snuggie and so much more I can’t even remember. Faith got Nintendo DS games, Aeropostle shirts, a snuggie, a dipping dot maker, bed sheets, and again so much more I can’t even remember. I asked that everyone wait and buy me clothes in July when I need them…but I still got a few little figurines, and Snow White on DVD which I really wanted. Shawn got a Penguins Stanley Cup Champion picture in a frame, and a goalie glove for hockey along with money and gift cards. So all in all it was a great Christmas.
I’m still feeling pretty tired most of the time. I’m trying to incorporate pureed foods into my diet, but it’s so hard when you’re never hungry to remember to eat and what not. I get full so fast too. Like two tablespoons of scrambled eggs is all I can do before I’m full. I am finding out that my body DOES NOT like sugar! Accidently Shawn made me scrambled eggs with 2% milk instead of skim and I had what is known as “dumping” syndrome. I was all sweaty and felt like I was going to throw up. It’s not a fun feeling…not in the least. Everything is still trial and error. But I’m happy to report that I am down another 8.5 pounds, bringing the total count to 28.5 pounds! I can’t remember the last time that I was down this much! I’m loving seeing the scale move! It’s such an awesome feeling!!!!
Hope everyone had a most joyous Christmas…and enjoying their time off, those that have off this week!

Wow…my baby girl is 9 years old today. Where has the time gone? I still feel like it was yesterday that she was born, and now she’s 9. Time is going way too fast! Today we have planned a little family get together with us, my mom, my sisters and their families. She wanted pizza, so it’ll be an easy planned dinner.
I’m having a really good day. I’m down 14 “official” pounds so far. Well, I gained 10 when I got home from all the fluids, and I’ve taken that off and an additional 14, so doing good! I started my protein shakes yesterday, and unfortunately the sugar content was higher than my body could take and I ended up with “dumping” syndrome. Dumping syndrome is different for everyone, but for me it was a high heart rate. I felt like my heart was beating out of my chest. So Shawn took a listen and it was 144!!!! So I laid down for a little bit and it subsided to normal, but all day I was very tired, and not having much energy. And we had a busy day, so I wasn’t able to rest. We ended up going to my dad’s to celebrate all the December birthday’s…my dad’s and Faith’s are today, my step mother’s is December 24, her nephew was this week and then Hannah, my sister Jill’s boyfriends daughter is later in the month. Everyone had a good time, and it was great seeing everyone. I had my cream of chicken soup and water, and all was good.
Then last night we went to The Chapel with our Crossover group, which is a worship service preformed by our Crossover leaders and students. It was awesome and very uplifting.
Now that I am feeling better, I need to get my butt and gear and GO CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!!!! I haven’t bought a single solitary gift yet!!!! Guess all my presents will be in gift bags this year, because I definitely won’t have time to wrap this year! YIKES!
Hope everyone is having a very blessed day!

Well, today is the first day since surgery that I have felt like moving. Where to begin…that’s the question. Surgery went as planned on Monday, Dr. McCloskey said everything went smoothly and all looked great. Had a great night Monday and then Tuesday I woke up feeling like I did 1,000 sit ups! Figured it was routine, and went about my day. Went for my dye test, and that looked routine too. Came back upstairs and started on my clear liquids…and this is when the trouble started!woke up from a map in horrible pain! My aide took my temperature and it was 102!!! Well the pain just kept getting worse! Ended up back in the OR to see what was wrong. Seemed as if my nurse never told my doctor, and the pain was pretty much ignored! When they opened me back up they found a pin hole size tear in my small bowel!!, and my stomach cavity was filling with the gunk I was drinking and trying to digest! My surgeon had to clean me out with 12 liters of saline!!! But after the second surgery and a two day stay in the ICU, I am feeling 1,000 times better and really on the road to recovery! I just did my dye test again, and all seems great! I feel awesome, the way I should have all along!
Thanks for all the prayers, I appreciate them all!
