Slight Complication
Well, today is the first day since surgery that I have felt like moving. Where to begin…that’s the question. Surgery went as planned on Monday, Dr. McCloskey said everything went smoothly and all looked great. Had a great night Monday and then Tuesday I woke up feeling like I did 1,000 sit ups! Figured it was routine, and went about my day. Went for my dye test, and that looked routine too. Came back upstairs and started on my clear liquids…and this is when the trouble started!woke up from a map in horrible pain! My aide took my temperature and it was 102!!! Well the pain just kept getting worse! Ended up back in the OR to see what was wrong. Seemed as if my nurse never told my doctor, and the pain was pretty much ignored! When they opened me back up they found a pin hole size tear in my small bowel!!, and my stomach cavity was filling with the gunk I was drinking and trying to digest! My surgeon had to clean me out with 12 liters of saline!!! But after the second surgery and a two day stay in the ICU, I am feeling 1,000 times better and really on the road to recovery! I just did my dye test again, and all seems great! I feel awesome, the way I should have all along!
Thanks for all the prayers, I appreciate them all!
…until we blog again…

So glad to hear that things are FINALLY going well! I’ve been worried after the FB posts – knowing there had been a problem, but not really what was going on.
Hope you are home soon!!

Gosh, Jana, I had no idea! I’m so sorry you had complications. My sister had the lap band surgery this year. I pray you both have the success you want. Blessings to you and your family! Have a very, very, Merry Christmas!!
